Become a STEM Team Trainer
If you’re a gifted teacher and have had success teaching and training others, we might be able to use you as a volunteer STEM Team Trainer once or twice (or more) every year. We’ll cover your expenses and send you on-site to our Sending Partner’s city to teach the specific pre-field training session that involves location-specific training.
If you’ve already got some good STEM short-term mission experience, and you think the Lord might be calling you to become a STEM Team Trainer, your next step is to contact the Personnel Department at STEM using the "Personnel Initial Inquiry" link located on the Positions Available page.

STEM Experience
- Ideally, you’ll already be a STEM Team Leader
- Or you’ll have had other on-going experience in STEM Team Operations
Application Process
- Inquire with STEM (use the "Personnel Initial Inquiry" link located on the Positions Available page)
- Interview(s) with STEM Team Operations
Training the Trainer
- Attend STEM’s “Short-Term Mission Leaders’ Conference (STMLC)” at least once every two years, including the “Becoming a STEM Team Trainer” workshop and the “STEM Team Leader Certification (STLC)” pre-conference session.
- You’ll also need to:
- Observe an official STEM Team Training at a location near you
- Co-train with an official STEM Team Trainer
- Pass evaluation of Team Operations Director
